We use Firebase, a Google's service, to hold, store, record data of users; register and authorise users, and provide data. We use Firebase data stores located in the European Union.

1. What information do we collect

Personal data

To use the App, you have to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Your email
  • Your first and last name
  • Your picture or avatar
  • Your IP address
  • Your unique device identifier
  • Your user ID from your fitness app (such as Strava)

Activity data

Our App requires your outdoor activities data (such as bike rides, runs, swims, etc.) in order to be functional to you. The moment you allow the Squadrats App to read data from your fitness app (such as Strava), or allow our Mobile App to track your activity, the data from your activities will be sent to our servers. This data then becomes publicly accessible to other users of the App. By using the App you agree that your activity data becomes public.

Each activity data is a set of GPS location points from your mobile devices or sensors used for recording the activity with timestamps for each of the data points.

Web or mobile usage data

We collect information that your device sends whenever you visit our website or our mobile app. This data may include information such as your device's IP address, mobile phone unique ID or UDID, browser type, browser version, pages that you visit, timestamps of your visits, and the amount time spent on those pages.

Aggregated statistical location data

We generate statistical location data (such as the most, and the least popular locations in certain areas) based on all of the users activity data, including your data. The statistical data is aggregated, and stripped from any Personal Data.

Since the statistical data doesn't contain any Personal Data, we reserve the right not recalculate the statistics, even if you decide to remove your account and delete all your data.

For example: a location is visited by 100 users on a particular day, and you were one of those users. Even if you delete your account afterwards, our stats will still show the location was visited by 100 users (not 99.) But the stats won't know who these users were, so we won't disclose that you were one of the users.

2. Transfer of data

Your information, including your Personal Data, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside the European Union, please note that we transfer your data, including Personal Data, to the European Union and process it there.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

3. Disclosure of data for legal purposes

Squadrats Team may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • To comply with a legal obligation
  • To protect and defend the rights or property of the Squadrats Team
  • To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service

4. Security of data

The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. External service providers

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate the App, to provide services on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how the App is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
