Squadrats is an outdoor game that transforms your activities into exciting expeditions. It adds fun and a higher purpose to your everyday rides, runs, walks, canoe trips, or ski descents, by encouraging you to build a squarish map of the places you've been.
Ride, run, walk, swim, boat, but use your own muscles, wind, or gravity.
Motor vehicles (except e-bikes) are not allowed.
Use Strava, a popular activity tracking app. Record activities with their mobile app.
You can also use your smartwatch or a bike computer. Just make sure to synchronise your activities with Strava.
Once your activities are in Strava, they will be automatically transferred to Squadrats.

Android and iPhone apps for Squadrats are going to be released soon. Stay tuned!
A squadrat is a squarish area approximately one mile by one mile. It becomes yours when you enter it.
A yard is your largest area of visited and interconnected squadrats. Each of the squadrats must touch its four neighbouring squadrats: to the north, east, south, and west.
A.K.A. the Big Boy. Squadrato di tutti squadrati. Übersquadrat is your largest square filled with visited squadrats.
Squadratinhos are just like squadrats but much smaller and quicker to acquire.
One squadrat occupies the same area as 64 squadratinhos.
Just like yard but made of squadratinhos.
An übersquadratinho is your largest square area filled with visited squadratinhos.
A squadratinho is in a military, industrial, or otherwise restricted zone. What to do?
Check if the facility hosts open exhibitions. If not, please accept that some squadratinhos remain unreachable. Consider building your übersquadratinho elsewhere or focus on the yardinho instead.
Can I sync my activities from Komoot?
No. Unlike Strava, Komoot doesn't allow us to access your activities.
I was in that place in 1999 on a school trip. Is it ok if I add my past activity manually?
No. Please add only activities that you personally recorded with your phone or another GPS tracking device.
